Schacht Specialty Looms

The Feature-full Rigid Heddle Loom
Flip, our new folding rigid heddle loom, is comfortable, compact, sturdy, and a pleasure to weave on. Designed for high performance, this loom folds in a jiffy for storage or transport.
Weave in comfort. Choose three different weaving
modes: use the rear leg for hooking to a table edge, clamp it to a
table for stand-up weaving, or install it on our convenient trestle
stand.
Warp in a flash. Included with Flip, the folding loom, are clamps and a warping peg for direct-loom warping. We include instructions for both direct and pre-measuring methods.
Our top cross brace allows long warps, up to 5-6 yards (depending on weight and winding paper), to be wound on the beams without impacting the size of the shed.
Fine-toothed nylon ratchets provide precise tension control. The conveniently located heddle blocks on the sides of the loom hold the rigid heddle in the up, down, or neutral position. The heddle, available in 8, 10 and 12 dents per inch, is made of durable ABS plastic, with large eyes and slots.
Flip is ideal for plain weaves and pick-up patterns. Our exclusively-designed two heddle capabilities make sense of 2-heddle weaving for the first time.
Flip is available in 15”, 20”, and 25” weaving widths, and includes an 8-, 10-, or 12-dent reed, warping peg, 2 shuttles, threading hook, and complete warping and weaving instructions.

Table looms are great for classroom use, workshops, sampling, and small projects. They are ideal for learning about four- and eight-shaft pattern weaving, since the direct tie-up through the hand levers allows for infinite experimentation.
Our table looms are expertly crafted of the finest hard maple and built for maximum structural stability. Many schools use our table looms and find they weather well after many years of heavy use.
We use fine-toothed nylon gears on both the warp
and cloth beams, which allow precise tension control. Our
front-mounted levers make shaft selection easy to
reach with each
hand. Front-mounted levers also make it easy to see at a glance
which shafts are raised.
Schacht table looms are available in three weaving widths-15", 20", and 25"- with four or eight shafts. The looms come with a carbon steel reed in your choice of 6, 8, 10, 12, or 15 dents. Flat steel heddles, two apron rods, and three lease sticks are also included. A double back beam is available for all table loom widths.
Table Loom with Stand Our X-frame floor stand makes our table loom the correct height to be used with a standard chair. Installation is simple -just fit the holes in the base of the loom onto pins in the stand. The floor stand will fit older model table looms by drilling holes in the bottom of the table loom using the drill guide provided.

Tapestry weaving is considered by many to be the
most personal of all weaving. Among the simplest of looms, the
tapestry loom holds a continuous warp under tension, allowing the
weaver to see all of the warp at once. Sheds are formed using heddle
bars and string heddles. While only two heddle bars are needed for
traditional tapestry weaving, we provide four heddle bars so that
beginning weavers can also experiment with 4-shaft pattern weaving.
To keep the warp tension even throughout your weaving, our tapestry loom has a tension beam with thumbscrews on the end which allow for easy adjustment. Available in 18" and 25" weaving widths, our continuous warping system allows a 60" long warp to be put directly on the loom without using any other warping tools.
A-Frame Stand
Designed for use with our portable tapestry looms, our A-Frame Stand inexpensively answers the question of how to hold the loom upright on the table top or the floor while weaving. The adjustable side arms let you vary the angle, and may be folded up for storage.
Tapestry Loom, 18" $96.00
Tapestry Loom, 25" $106.00
Tapestry Beaters
We make three styles of tapestry beaters:
single-ended, double-ended, and a weighted single-ended. All
are made of hard maple and have a smooth Danish oil finish.
The wooden teeth are set at five per inch. The weighted
beater has about five ounces of lead weight inserted into the end to
provide more impact for tighter weaving.
Cost:
Single End $21.00
Double End $21.00
Weighted $39.00
